According to Spencer, clients with projects of that calibre are typically attracted to Prime Movers because of their diverse array of services. “We’re a one-stop-shop,” he says. “There are not a lot of things we don’t do in house. So, we add a lot of value on bigger projects where they need to do a lot more than just move an item. “Clients typically want to deal with one point of contact,” he says. “It becomes frustrating for them when they’re trying to organize various trade and scheduling logistics, especially when it comes to truck driving, booking cranes, road closure permitting. A lot of logistical factors come into play with these projects. We make those headaches disappear:” Clients also appreciate working directly with the owners. Spencer and Dan are both very handson. “We estimate, we project manage, we’re very involved with the business. So clients are typically dealing with one of us, getting an extra level of care and attention. It’s our name on the side of the trucks and we take great pride in that. We have a long-term vision for the business and we know we’re only going to get there by building great relationships and doing well-respected work.” It also helps that Spencer and Dan both love what they do – especially the more complicated jobs. “The work is quite satisfying,” Spencer says. “We get to think outside the box and problem solve. There’s a lot of satisfaction in that, which is why we love this line of work.” THE CONSTRUCTION SOURCE CANADA
