Prime Movers began with a single employee. Since then, they have grown to over 50 employees, flourishing through the pandemic. When COVID hit, Spencer says, the company’s growth actually accelerated. “We’re a beneficiary of infrastructure projects that governments inject capital into,” he explains. “For example, when you build a hospital, a lot of large equipment needs to get placed in the building. We’re the guys who move it into place. Or when you upgrade the heating or cooling system of a school, we’re the guys that take the old equipment out, and put the new equipment in.” “During COVID, the government was injecting capital into the system to stimulate economic activity,” he adds. “So, we ended up having a major growth spurt through COVID, and that’s just continued. We’ve been growing every year.” Recently, Prime Movers’ growth has been bolstered by new partnerships. Last year they strategically aligned with Prism Industrial Services – a millwrighting and process piping company that provides services that complement to Prime Movers’ offerings. More recently, they partnered with a crane and transportation company, Platinum Crane & Rigging. That company provides larger cranes and heavier transportation options than Prime Movers does. Today, Prime Movers’ services include: industrial moving; crane and rigging services; heavy lift forklift services; transportation and logistics; custom crating and packaging; storage and warehousing; demolition and millwrighting. Their clients span a range of industries, and their projects vary greatly in size, value and contract JANUARY 2025
