“This is just one example of the type of thing that typically engineers don’t get involved in it, but we do, and it adds a lot of value to our existing clients.” In general, Sam says, TCG strives to always “go the extra mile” to care for their clients, and often that means challenging the status quo. “We’re always looking to see how can we solve the next problem rather than just follow suit on what others have done,” he says. “We have that entrepreneurial spirit – we’re always looking to see how can we can go outside the lines and help in a better way and not necessarily be tied down with ‘This is the way it’s been done for many years.’ We like to step outside the lines and not only do what others do, but add some extra value.” As a result of that boundary-pushing approach, TCG has earned a consistent stream of referrals and repeat business over their history. “Quite honestly, most of what we do – if not all of what we do – is repeat business,” Sam says. “We get a lot of referrals, a lot of clients coming back to us to do more work.” “Actually, one of the reasons why we expanded our services to include fire protection and building envelopes was because our past clients demanded it,” he adds. “They had been asking us for years, and for years we declined and referred them to other engineers, but it got to a point where we had some of our biggest clients coming to us and saying ‘We really want you guys involved.’ So we dipped out feet in, reluctantly at first, and then that led us to the idea that we could actually do it. And if our clients are calling for us to do it, then we do it.” THE CONSTRUCTION SOURCE CANADA C M Y CM MY CY CMY K TP ad_Jan2025_final.pdf 1 2025-01-30 3:44 PM
