We just don’t have that corporate feel and hopefully we never will.” These days, in terms of projects, Summit Access Solutions works on a mix of new construction and renovations. They do a lot of structural shoring, re-shoring for demolition, material hoists for new builders, and mast climbing work platforms for demolition or re-cladding purposes. Right now, a “huge thing” in the GTA is envelope restoration, and Summit offers a full package access solution for that. “A lot of the big guys are getting into full envelope removal and replacement in order to change the class of a building from a Class B to a Class A, or just upgrade it for the purpose of being watertight,” Kris explains. “Plus, they have to get buildings to certain green standards by certain dates set by the government,” Dave adds. “A lot of the time, doing that will require a full envelope remediation.
