“We help guide our developer clients towards the equipment and materials that make the most sense for their project,” he continues. “They’ll call us before they even start building a project and we’ll give them input on what system to design, what’s cost effective, what’s going to meet their needs.” “Because there’s not just one system that’s going to meet the needs of every client, just like there’s not one shoe that’s going to every foot,” Matthew says. “The client’s needs are different every time. They might have one project with three towers, and they should use vertical fan coils, then they’ll have two towers on the other side that should be using a trench inspector or something like that to heat and cool the space. Every part of the project has to be looked at independently and the clients depend on us to do that, and then give them real information to help steer them in the right direction.” “We have a lot of projects that we just negotiate out with the developers as we try to find the best solution for them,” he adds. “That shows that we’ve built a lot of trust, and we take that very seriously.” Over the years, Pitt Meadows Plumbing has also built a lot of trust internally, among their direct team. That trust is reflected in their employee retention and longevity – Matthew says they always try to promote from within, and that he’s personally known many of their senior staff members for over 20 years. Matthew also says there are a lot of “family connections” within the company. As previously mentioned, there are several Robinsons in key positions – Matthew’s sisters Sara, Nina, and Megan, and his brother Philip all work for the company – but there are also multiple members of other families.
