The Construction Source

“What gives us a huge advantage over most of the other players in our industry is we operate in three different markets,” Matthew says. “We do industrial projects, we do institutional projects such as hospitals and jails, and we do multi-family residential – hardly anybody else in our local market can do all that.” As a result of that versatility, Matthew explains that Pitt Meadows Plumbing had developed technological expertise outpacing many of their competitors. “We do a lot of 3D modelling and pre-fabrication, which has been the standard in the institutional sector for almost 10 years, but is relatively new to the multi-family market in our area,” he says. “We model ahead of time, we figure out all the potential problems and issues, and then we fabricate off-site in a controlled environment. That sets us apart.” And because they are consistently pursuing new innovations, Matthew adds, Pitt Meadows is destined to stay ahead. “We innovate constantly,” he says. “We’re constantly looking for a better way to do something.” As a result of their innovative streak and technological expertise, Pitt Meadows has been able to form repeat relationships with a number of clients, particularly developer clients. According to Matthew, many of their developer clients actually call Pitt Meadows before they start construction to solicit advice about how their mechanical system should be designed and what products they should use. “We’re a company they can trust, and they know can count on us when they need help,” Matthew says. “Sometimes that means calling us after a project is completed and there’s a problem and they can’t sort it out, and sometimes that means calling us so we can help them through design development and choosing the right mechanical systems.”
