These days, Pitt Meadows Plumbing & Mechanical Systems is one the largest mechanical contractors in the province, with an employee count of around 450. Accordingly, their projects also tend to be large and high-end. Despite the size of their company and the scope of their work, however, Pitt Meadows Plumbing is a company powered by family values. Steve Robinson founded the company with his brother Stewart in 1979, and both continue to lead the company today. Steve’s son Matthew has been involved from a young age – he left for a while to run his own plumbing company but returned to the family business as a partner in 2013. Other Robinson family members also fill key positions. In his time there, Matthew has personally seen the company grow and evolve considerably – they had about 25 employees when he first returned – and he credits that growth firstly to their versatility.
