“We really like to dedicate ourselves to our craft,” he says. “We like to find ways to do things better than we did them before. We’re never done growing and learning.” Interpersonally, he says their team also gets along well – he says they have a “cohesive group that interacts well together.” “We are always finding ways for us all to get together and just celebrate the business and what we do,” Derek says. Moving forward, Derek says the goal is to maintain that cohesiveness even as the business grows and gets even bigger. For Hopewell Development, he predicts that growth will take the form of further expansion into the United States. “We’re already engaged with new markets further to the east and southeast regions,” he explains. “There’s a lot of opportunity in the United States.
