Zynik purchased Superior Sprinkler in 2021 as one of the first steps towards their goal of building “one of the biggest, most successful fire protection companies in Canada.” “That’s the vision,” Andrew says. “We’re at three fire protection companies now and we’re always looking at buying more.” Zynik’s model is to purchase businesses that are involved in highly-skilled labour, partner with the owners, and then help those companies grow while providing the owners with a path to retirement. That model was a perfect fit for Superior Sprinkler, Gary explains: “When they approached us, John and I were both in our 60s and we didn’t have a solid exit strategy,” he says. “The timing was right to partner with a company like Zynik, a company that could inject the amount of capital and additional expertise and horsepower to take Superior Sprinkler to where we knew we wanted it to go, but we just didn’t have the resources to do it before the acquisition.” And where did they want to go? Gary says “all across the country.” 100 YEARS OF PROVEN LEARN MORE ABOUT PERMANENT FIRE PUMP SYSTEMS. FIRE PROTECTION THE CONSTRUCTION SOURCE CANADA
