Superior Sprinkler is an industry-leading single source supplier of fire protection systems, maintenance, and service. Ever since forming in 1986, they have been providing clients with a complete range of services to meet their fire protection needs – everything from site analysis, to system design, installation, scheduled inspections, testing, and maintenance. Over the years, they have grown steadily in terms of size and reputation, but they have grown especially quickly over the past three years, as the company has become part of Zynik Manufacturing Group. As a member of Zynik, they are projected to grow even bigger and better, and their team is excited about what the future holds for the company, its associates, and its customers. For now, that team is still led by Gary Irving, who founded the company in 1986 with his business partner, John Killeen. When they started the company, their goal was to provide the construction industry’s design-build sector a complete one stop source for sprinkler and fire protection solutions. “A lot of companies weren’t doing that, so we felt there was a void there,” Gary remembers. “We stepped in to fill that void and that’s how we managed to grow the business.” Superior Sprinkler’s first office was located in Bolton, Ontario, and in the early days their service area was limited to the Mississauga area. Almost 30 years later, in 2014, they added a Calgary office to the operation. More recently, they expanded their reach even further through acquisitions – more on that later. Over the years, Superior Sprinker has also broadened their focus and capabilities. In the early years, they were known primarily as a business focused on design and installation. OCTOBER 2024
