According to Alan, when it comes to homes of that scope and caliber, another factor that sets Agave Homes apart is their budget consciousness. Those kinds of homes might be very expensive, but they don’t take that as license to spend frivolously – they still strive to stretch every dollar and maximize the value for the client. Alan believes that his clients highly appreciate that diligence. Alan also believes that clients appreciate his honesty. Sometimes that means having tough conversations, but Alan believes the important thing is having the conversation and making sure everybody’s on the same page and everybody’s expectations are aligned. “We really focus on communication. Communication is huge for us. Our clients know where we’re at on a weekly or at least biweekly basis. We’re very honest, we’re very upfront; everybody knows where they stand.” As a result of that approach, Alan has been able to form personal friendships with many of his clients, which he says can be rare in the building industry. “It doesn’t always work out that way,” he says, “and I think that says a lot about the relationships we build.” “I think it helps that most of the people we build for, they’re very similar to us,” he adds. “They have moved to the area from elsewhere, they’re looking for similar things, they have similar values. So we understand them.
