for new equipment they purchase from us,” says Marc. They also sell and service Shoremaster aluminum docks and boat lifts, which makes up half of S&H’s business. Shoremaster is the only product they don’t build themselves. The seasonal business employs twelve people from April to October. This includes two field trucks consisting of five employees each and another two in the shop and the wood shop. They always have someone at the front counter and someone doing inside sales. “We have a diversified workforce of men and women from different cultural backgrounds and our work atmosphere is friendly and inclusive. We work as a team and respect our employees, and give bonuses for staff input,” says Marc. Marc says the company’s suppliers and vendors have been with S&H from the start. “We go back and look at the best pricing and service but it seems these are the vendors we’ve stuck with. We stay with the ones that work for us.” With the advent of the patent and the completion of the examination in 2024, Marc anticipates significant growth in the future. He expects that growth to come in multiple forms. They already have a few dock shows lined up this coming fall and winter and hope to find some new and interesting products. In addition, Marc is looking to grow S&H by franchising out into other areas in the country and introducing new manufacturing plants. He believes there are plenty of communities that could benefit from their model and their product, and he’s excited about finding prospective partners who share his vision and his values.
