Construction strives to provide employment year-round, where a lot of construction companies shut down for the winter. Scott Weir, meanwhile, runs the company’s new truss manufacturing plant, which they just opened in July. That makes him a newer addition to the C.F. Construction team, but he’s been working in the local industry for a long time – and he’s known Craig for a long time, as they used to be neighbours – and he has long admired the company and their culture from afar. “I really liked Craig and I liked the company he created,” he says. “I liked the work they did, I liked the values they demonstrated, and I wanted to be a part of it. When the opportunity came about to be involved in this truss plant, I jumped on it.” Moving forward, the goal for C.F. Construction is to continue cultivating a culture that retains employees for decades, and that industry veterans like Scott want to be a part of. They also want to keep attracting new employees, as some of their more veteran team members are nearing retirement, and they want to bring in some younger team members to learn from them while they are still there.
