As previously mentioned, that approach to customer service and quality control has resulted in some very long-lasting relationships with clients. According to Nigel, a lot of those relationships started almost a decade ago and are still going strong today. Internally, Amped Electrical Contracting’s relationships are also strong and lasting. Nigel calls their turnover rate “extremely low,” especially compared to others in the industry. He credits that to the fact that when they grow, they always try to promote from within. He also credits the flat organizational structure they have fostered, with very few meaningful barriers between employees and managers: “As leaders, we have an open door policy,” he says. “Our team knows if there’s ever an issue, whether it be personal or on-site, we’re always there to listen.” “Something that Amped does that I don’t think every electrical contractor does is make everyone feel like they’re equal,” Chris adds. “That’s how I feel, and I think that’s what others feel. We don’t have a structured hierarchy. We all work together as a team. I think that makes a difference.” Over the years, Amped Electrical Contracting has also formed close relationships with subcontractors and suppliers – once again, Nigel says some of those relationships go back over a decade. “We rely on our suppliers,” he says. “We rely on them for their honesty and integrity, just like our clients rely on us. Our relationships with them are very similar to our clients’ relationships with us. If they say they are going to do something, we can count on them to do it.” THE CONSTRUCTION SOURCE CANADA
