He joined Amped Electrical Contracting in 2013 and brought his commercial expertise to the table. When he came aboard, the company had about eight employees. In the years since, the company has grown and expanded at a steady rate, and now employs roughly 50 people. These days, Amped Electrical Contracting does a wide variety of projects – they do a lot of single family-residential and multi unit-residential, a lot of commercial, and they are even currently working on an addition to a veterinary hospital. Regardless of the project type, however, Nigel says that clients choose Amped Electrical for the same reasons. In most cases, the reason is they worked with the company before and enjoyed the experience. “We’ve developed some longstanding repeat relationships with clients,” Nigel says. “We only rarely tender publically for projects. The majority of our work is design-build and it comes from the relationships we’ve built over the years.” Nigel credits that customer loyalty, firstly, to “our integrity.” “If we say we’re going to do something, we do it,” he elaborates. “That’s basically it. We don’t ever try to sell clients something that we’re not going to be able to provide.
