The Construction Source

STRONG AND LASTING RELATIONSHIPS SWMW believes in supporting their local construction associations, and because of this, they are members of the Lethbridge Construction Association, Medicine Hat Construction Association, Calgary Construction Association, and Grande Prairie Construction Association. Several of their employees are executive members throughout the province – according to Francis, that’s one of the key ways SWMW gives back to the construction industry. SWMW also belongs to the Alberta Metal Building Association and provides their input regularly. In the past, the leaders of Southwest Design & Construction Ltd have volunteered their time to sit on the Board of Directors. Midwest Design & Construction Ltd. carries ISN for projects that require this type of certification – and indeed, several highly-valued long-term clients require this safety qualification. ISN certification is a difficult standard to achieve and because of this, it puts SWMW in a special category to be able to bid and comply with works on ISN projects. In addition to purchasing steel buildings from Behlen, SWMW also purchases from Archwall Building Systems (formally Meridian) for their Quonsets and potato/vegetable storage buildings. Furthermore, SWMW has strong relationships with Forma Steel out of Fort MacLeod, Alberta. Forma Steel is a supplier of metal cladding for roofs and walls, and trims, and provides custom metal fabrication for most of SWMW’s buildings in Southern Alberta.
