The COVID-19 pandemic highlighted the negative impact of isolation on individuals, which further motivated us to create spaces that eliminate such fears.” Moving forward, Marlaina hopes to do more community developments along the lines of the one they are doing now. She also hopes that community will inspire other developers – not just developers in Nova Scotia, but developers all across Canada and even the globe. And if those developers need any advice or guidance, Marlaina is also very open to providing a consulting service. “Our ultimate goal is to use this community design project as a model for similar initiatives across the country and around the world,” she concludes. “We aim to live in harmony with one another and our environments, utilizing new technologies to enhance our lived experiences.
