Family feeling In the spring of 2023, Keith Construction delivered a new infill home overlooking Okanagan Lake, which was notable because it achieved Step 4 in the BC Energy Step Code – which they hope to make their “baseline” in the near future. “We have methods for specific wall assemblies in order to achieve that,” he explains. “We’ve gotten good at creating very airtight homes with good mechanical systems. We can provide solar or geothermal and all sorts of other options for customers that are looking to be leading edge. We’d like to get into passive homes – we haven’t done any certified passive homes recently, but we have the ability to get there and we’d love to do more.” In the case of that recent home overlooking the lake, Keith Construction was responsible for both the design and the construction.
