They were also responsible for grounds maintenance, which meant: winter snow removal; salt and sanding the parking lots; site roads and laydowns; walkways; stairs and landings; and 22 kilometres of overland belt roadway. Additionally, they filled potholes, graded the site; graded 22 kilometres of overland belt roadway; and were responsible for mowing and weed management. They also performed water control and ditch maintenance; excavations and trenching as needed; they planted and watered over 300 trees; and they did general cleanup and organizing around the site.
