They are also actively looking to grow considerably in both size and profile – more on that later. These days, Head Honcho Builders primarily works for leading local developers, on projects including single family homes, storage facilities, townhouses, and apartment buildings. Terry believes he has been able to build such strong relationships with clients due to his honesty and transparency: “We’re truly honest,” he explains. “We don’t rip anybody off, and everybody knows that.” “I’m old school,” he adds. “I don’t pull any punches. I tell it how it is and if you don’t like it you can go somewhere else. A lot of the guys that I deal with appreciate that. They know I’m not going say one thing and do something else. They know I’m not going to lie; I’m not going to try to hide anything. They know that with me, what you see is what you get. I’m truthful, I’m blunt, I’m honest – and I put 110 per cent of my energy towards making sure I do the best job I can possibly do.” Terry admits that his bluntness can be off-putting to some – but that’s okay with him, because those who are put off probably wouldn’t be a good fit anyway. “If I can’t sit down and have a conversation with you and look you straight in the eye and get a man’s handshake out of you, then I’m not doing business with you,” he says. “That’s just not how I roll.” The clients who are a good fit, Terry adds, tend to keep THE CONSTRUCTION SOURCE CANADA
