Ethics and responsibility Throughout their history, Lopez Contracting has not only built strong and lasting relationships with clients, but also with their other industry stakeholders, including their employees, their subcontractors, and especially their suppliers – almost all of whom are locally-based, which is important to Matthew and his team. “We have an emphasis on supporting our fellow small businesses,” Matthew says. “Those relationships are rooted in a mutual desire to better our local community.” In particular, Matthew says the company has built some great relationships with local arborists, from whom they source all their lumber. By fostering those relationships, they are able to ensure that their lumber supply is “felled very ethically and very responsibly.” As a side benefit, that also puts Lopez Contracting at a remove from some of the “larger corporate factors” that affect JUNE 2024
