Feeling blessed Moving forward, the vision for Bonney Construction is to keep building custom homes and additions for clients and keep doing commercial and multi-unit projects, as their team enjoys diversity. For example, they are renovating MANB, the oldest mosque in Saint John. They also do some of their single-family homes and duplex developments in Pleasant View Estates. They also have available lots on which to build in some other local subdivisions, including Bonney Park in Hampton and Riverbend Heights in Quispamsis – they plan on developing some movein-ready spec homes in those areas, too. As for the size of the business, Marilyn believes the company is the right size when directly employing 12 to 15 people. “Our employees are like an extension of our family,” she says, and at that size she believes their company can be optimally productive without compromising the quality and personal service that clients have come to expect from Bonney Construction. “Through our 50 years in the construction industry, we have been very fortunate overall to have had such good customers and employees to work with,” she concludes. “We feel very blessed and are hopeful that we will continue to meet the needs of our customers in the future.” JUNE 2024
