and started as a controller. She quickly became charmed by the culture at Westwood and the positive role they played in their community. “It is a private, family-run company with a lot of color regarding the people and culture. It’s nice to be more connected with a business that is deeprooted in the community.” The opportunity to build kitchens also drew Rishelle to the industry. “The kitchen is cliché – the heart of the home,” she says. “I watch people design and build something that creates a feeling for our customers. People walk into their kitchen and enjoy their life – family and friends. There is so much attached to cabinetry and how it filters through the whole home. The entire process gets into your blood, whether it’s a renovation, new build, or multi-family. There are so many varying types of cabinetry needs in our world, and I want to stay in it forever.” This drive filters down to all levels of Westwood and is reflected in their employee retention. “We have people on our factory floor that have been here 25 to 40 years,” says Rishelle. “The longevity and tenure in this organization says it all.” THE CONSTRUCTION SOURCE CANADA
