Over 50 years ago, Nick Grasa immigrated to Canada from Croatia, bringing with him his skills as a cabinet maker. After several years working his trade in Alberta, he ended up in British Columbia’s Okanagan Valley, which he favoured for its similarity to his native land. There, he formed Westwood Cabinetry on a foundation of values including quality craftsmanship, customer focus, integrity, innovation, and commitment to the community. Today, Nick’s daughter, Angie Norman, leads the company with the same vision, backed by the same values – but with a particular focus on innovation. Under her leadership, Westwood Cabinetry has continually pushed the boundaries of what is possible in design and technology. “We are a 52-year-old company, and I say this with all the love – we’re a little startup in our own right,” says Rishelle Tarr, the company’s Director of Business Operations. “Under Angie’s leadership, our multi-generational company’s commitment to quality craftsmanship and elevated customer service remains as strong as ever,” she adds. “Our team of skilled craftsmen and women, innovative designers, meticulous installers, and dedicated customer service specialists leverage state-of-the-art technology to create beautiful and functional cabinetry for every customer.” Angie has been a part of Westwood Cabinetry for almost all her life. As a child, she started out helping her father clean the shop. In the ensuing years, she moved up the ranks and for some time was the only female designer in the Okanagan kitchen cabinet industry. In 2021, she assumed the role of president and dedicated her full energy to Westwood. Rishelle, meanwhile, joined the company six years ago. She came from the financial world JUNE 2024
