Quality, fast turnaround and experience. This is what Aluminum Depot Gatineau-Ottawa’s (ALDG) company president Claude Poirier says drives his company. ALDG in Gatineau, Quebec, specializes in the manufacturing, distribution and installation of various aluminum products that are all 100 per cent environmentally friendly. They offer products in a wide array of styles, shapes, sizes, and colors, and they service clients throughout Gatineau, Ottawa, Kingston, Montreal and Quebec City. Their strength lies in their efficiency of manufacturing, and their honesty and transparency when it comes to customer service. “We’re honest with our clients, we’re proactive with them, and we tell them the real thing,” says Claude. “We don’t try to get around things. We are very transparent. We don’t wait until they call us, we call them and we tell them the truth. We believe the truth goes a long way.” Claude has personally headed multiple businesses during his career, including a sodding company while in school. After selling that business, he took a year off, and then bought the then-five-year-old ALDG in 2015. “I’ve been in business since I got out of university,” says Claude. “I was supposed to be an accountant, but when I finished my bachelor’s degree, I found it wasn’t a fit for me.” “The owner of ALDG was a friend of mine,” he recalls. “I was helping him set up the financials, and he told me it was too much. He wanted to take time for himself and wanted to sell.” Claude recognized the untapped potential in the mom-and-pop shop that ALDG was at the time. He believed that with the right mindset and the right team, he could elevate the business to new heights. “I saw much more there. The full potential of the business was much more.
