CJ’s Express Plumbing & Electrical is a longstanding, family-owned company based in Cambridge, Ontario, well known in the Tri-Cities for their expert knowledge and dependable service. For more than 27 years, they have been providing the region with reliable, high-quality plumbing services, doing everything from minor repairs to large, complex applications such as commercial, industrial and new construction. About 10 years ago, they added an electrical division, and they have since provided electrical services with the same attention to detail. In 2022, they acquired an HVAC company with the same quality commitment. These days, between their various divisions, they mainly work on large-scale projects, and they are known for doing what it takes to deliver those projects on time and on budget. “It’s not what we do that makes us reputable, it’s how we perform and efficiently deliver the final product on time,” says Nelson Oliveira, the company’s president. Nelson is the second generation of Oliveira to lead CJ’s Express. Originally, the company was formed in 1997 by his father John Oliveira and partner Mike Bygrave, who started the business equipped with just one sewer machine and his own personal vehicle, a Toyota RAV4. Nelson first started working with his father when he was 17-years-old, but he ended up leaving the company a little over a year later. He then spent about 13 years earning experience with another local company before returning to the family business in 2013. Over the past 11 years, CJ’s Express has grown and evolved by leaps and bounds under Nelson’s leadership. In terms of staff, they have gone from a two-man shop to a team of about 140 people.
