Those properties, Sky continues, are differentiated not just by their higher standard of customer service, but also their “more interesting architecture, unique finishings, and their more world-class amenities.” For example, at their ‘MTN House’ property in Canmore – which was formerly a Holiday Inn – they are building a Nordic spa. “We’re trying to offer experiences and service that are different and above and beyond from our competitors,” Sky says. Clients are not only guests, however – they also have investor clients, and Sky says the Basecamp Resorts brand is appealing to those clients for the obvious reasons: “We offered exceptional returns and we have had consistent returns since the beginning of our business.” When it comes to both client types, Basecamp Resorts has successfully earned a lot of loyalty over the years. Many of their guests are repeat guests, for example, and the majority of their leads are generated by word of mouth and referrals. Many of their investors, similarly, are repeat and longstanding.
