Putting it together Moving forward, Robins Investments’ goal is to continue to focus on higher-density builds, wherever in the country or world they are building. For a while to come, that’s going to be in the Saint John corridor of New Brunswick. With White Pines just getting off the ground, and with their land holdings in Rothesay still waiting to be developed, they still have a lot to do in the region. They feel good about that fact, Michael says, as “there’s a big demand for housing there,” and “a lot of growth happening in the area.” “I think the only thing that’s going to stop that growth is when there’s no more land left to develop,” he says. As the Saint John corridor continues to grow, Michael says that Robins Investments will continue to grow along with it. In that respect, he says the only impediment is finding the right people. That’s been a challenge in the past, but he says it’s getting easier. And so long as he can put together the right team, he says he would love to keep expanding the company and adding new capabilities. Their subsidiary company, J.M. Robins Construction, already exists to provide project management services. In the future, Michael hopes to add an in-house framing crew to that team, and maybe later a team of surveyors and engineers. “We’d love to start growing and doing more in-house,” Michael concludes. “That’s the ultimate direction of the company in the years to come, I’d say. It’s just finding the right team and putting them together.” JULY 2024
