Treating the water is an important issue. We’re trying to explore meeting the need when water is low in summer.” Moving forward, Clark’s goal is to continue pursuing innovative products like that one, especially when it comes to environmental sustainability. Hamilton Fine Homebuilding is a longstanding company, but that doesn’t mean they are set in their ways – Clark stresses that he always sees room to improve, and he’s not afraid of adapting to new products and technology if it means a better result for clients and the community. Hamilton Fine Homebuilding intends to continue to grow. According to James, the plan is to do that at a “consistently manageable rate.” “If you grow at an exceptional rate, you lose the ability to properly manage everything,” James says. “We don’t want to lose sight of quality for the sake of quantity.” Clark, for his part, has a special vision for his personal future in construction. “Everyone’s talking about affordable housing but nothing’s really happening,” he says. “I’d love to be involved in creating a cooperative, cost effective kind of living where people can get together, live and work together to help each other and keep costs down.” “There has to be another way than a hand out from the government,” he concludes. “I’m not interested in a welfare state. I’m interested in people creating something they can work in to serve themselves and others. For the last period of my life, I’d like to do things like that.” JULY 2024
