The Construction Source

Whatever the size or scope of the job, Little Star puts customer relations first. Jobie says he likes to imagine himself in place of the client and consider how he would want to be treated. He says he’s actually had a talent for that from a young age: “When I was writing music, I could transport myself into the audience’s presence and sense when a song was becoming boring. When I picked the name Little Star I transported my mind into the client’s head,” he adds. “That’s actually how I first chose the name ‘Little’ for our brand. People call us because the name sticks in their heads.” Jobie uses his talent for more than marketing, however. He also uses it to make clients feel comfortable at all stages of the process. He understands that renovating can be stressful and that other companies in the sector have tainted the industry’s reputation, but he does his best to assuage concerns and ensure the client is getting the product they want: “Construction has a terrible reputation for hacks and rip-offs. Many people are nervous about hiring contractors because of past bad experiences,” he says. “My thinking is ‘How can I make a client feel safe? How can I demonstrate we care?’ That’s worked very well for us.” “Referrals are huge for us. Our repeat clients are a testament to our work,” he adds. “We’ve done three or four or more projects for clients over the course of five or six years. That’s how we get a lot of our work. The rest we get from our referrals and our Google reviews.” DECEMBER 2024
