Making an impact As an example of the kind of quality work that comes from having quality people, Jacob points to a 24-unit low-rise apartment building the company recently built for the Tla’amin First Nation in Powell River. They completed that project in only 10 months as a rapid response to a housing crisis in the community for their Elders. “This was a complex project that was completed out of town, using conventional framing methods as opposed to pre-fabrication,” Jacob explains. “That project is an excellent demonstration of how construction methods can be made efficient and effective when the GC manages to make the project a team-oriented endeavour.” Moving forward, Converge Construction intends to continue taking on multi-family projects like that one, as they see that as a burgeoning sector. At the same time, they also want to take on a variety of other projects, as they see value in being versatile and diverse.
