Water and View Estates is a trusted real estate developer that specializes in waterfront and water view properties along the coastline of Nova Scotia. Formed in 2007 by Steffen Mangold and Richard Burns – two men with a passion for pristine water front development – they are a company that has steadily evolved over the years in terms of reputation and service offering. Today, they are well known for helping clients from all over the world realize the homes and cottages of their dreams in Nova Scotia – particularly along “charming and rugged coast” of the province’s Eastern Shore, and the “picturesque seaside” of the Sunrise Trail. Richard Burns is a Nova Scotia native, having been born and lived all his life in Guysborough County. Steffen Mangold, meanwhile, was born and raisFed in Stuttgart, Germany. While working at the legal department for a midsize property development company there, he became “fascinated” by the province of Nova Scotia, Canada, and the properties there on the coast. In 1999, he purchased his first property in Cape George, while he was still living overseas. He originally intended to sell and develop that property, but after visiting it in person, he fell in love too much to part with it: “That property had the highest hill in the county, and on top of that hill you have a 360 degree view, which is absolutely unique and fantastic,” he says. “It really is a fantastic piece of land. I ended up liking it so much that I kept it, and I don’t think I’m going to sell it ever.” Steffen ended up buying more properties, however, which he did go on to sell. At first, he did it on the side while still working in Germany. In 2007, he decided to make development his full-time priority.
