Making a Real Impact The Goldman Group’s work on the AT&T Tower in St. Louis, Missouri is a prime example of a historic building with untapped potential that will be redeveloped to serve the neglected needs of the community. The project consists of the conversion of a long-vacant 1.46-millionsquare-foot, 45-story office tower into a state-of-the-art mixeduse development with residential apartments, retail tenants, and copious amenity spaces, providing a unique blend of value for both residents and the public. The building occupies an entire city block at 909 Chestnut Street, in the heart of the city’s downtown. It was constructed in 1986 for Southwestern Bell Corporation. In 2006, the company – rebranded by then as AT&T – sold the tower to a real estate investment trust for nearly $205 million and leased it back for their St. Louis workers. In 2017, however, AT&T vacated the building and consolidated into a smaller property next door. The same year, U.S. Bank sued the owner and foreclosed on the property.
