“There are other developers now who’ve moved in since we came over here,” Parker says. “Significant projects are happening in and around the downtown of Nanaimo. The government is doing major street work upgrades and a new transit hub downtown. The recently launched fast-ferry service, Hullo, connecting Vancouver to Nanaimo has been a game-changer. We are helping to revitalize a downtown centre with a rich history and people are taking notice.” Moving forward, Parker says that his vision is to keep building out the Harbourview District and promoting Nanaimo as a wonderful place to move to and invest in. He feels there is still so much opportunity to explore. “We have so much work to do here,” he concludes. “We have at least another five more projects to develop and continue to look for other opportunities. We want the Harbourview District to become the most desirable amenity-based community in Nanaimo.” AUGUST 2024
