work for mega-size structures. And when it comes to industrial, they have experience planning and executing on a variety of projects, including schools, police stations, and churches. “There’s no job too big or too small,” Dennis says. “We do projects worth 100 bucks and we do projects worth up to $30 million or more.” As for their geographic reach, the company is based in Coaldale, Alberta, and most of their work takes place within a three-hour radius of their office. Dennis explains that a lot of those jobs are generated traditionally via bids and tenders. At the same time, he says the company has also built some very strong personal relationships with a lot of local clients, especially in the agricultural community, and a lot of those clients bring jobs to them directly. According to Glen, Dennis’ Dirtworx can provide clients with exceptional value for their money – he says that’s how they win jobs via tender, and it’s why their repeat clients keep coming back. In turn, he explains that they can provide that value because they “do it all.” “We can do the job from start to finish,” adds Pete. “We’re a turnkey outfit. We have a lot of equipment and we have a lot of skilled team members. We can usually do the whole job under one roof and we can get it done very fast.” Even in cases where they can’t do something in-house, Maurice says they have very strong relationships with subcontractors that can rely on to act quickly and effectively: “If we’re out of our area of expertise, we know the people to contact to get the job completed,” APRIL 2024
