costs and payments that have been made.” Lastly, Paul says, “considerable time and effort is involved with a custom build” – and Hanava Homes doesn’t skimp on that time or effort. “We make a concerted effort to ensure the project is completed to the satisfaction of the customer – right through to the last nail. This will often involve time after a move in to finish up the ‘little things’ that would often be overlooked.” By demonstrating all those qualities – by providing clear communication, reliability, fiscal responsibility, and a willingness to listen to customers – Hanava Homes has been able to form some very strong relationships with customers. Throughout their history, almost all of the company’s work has come from word of mouth and referrals, and in some cases they have even built homes more than once for the same people. “Since the process can take up to a year sometimes, a relationship becomes formed, the basis of which is trust and reliability,” Paul says. “A custom home is a significant financial investment so choosing a builder who you know, have seen his work, have worked with in the past, or comes highly recommended all contribute when making that decision. Customers are appreciative when their plans are executed with precision and attention to detail.” Over the years, Hanava Homes has also formed similarly strong and long-lasting relationships with their subcontractors. According to Paul, some of those relationships go back decades. He credits that loyalty and longevity to a lot of the same factors that go into building good relationships with clients, including an emphasis on collaboration and communication: “I would consider my relationship with sub-trades as one of respect and expectation,” he explains. “Our team values our sub-trades’ schedule and knowledge, and we strive to communicate and be ready for them when they arrive on-site to perform their work. Their knowledge and expertise in their field is also heard and received. It’s often a collaboration before the work commences as we discuss and strategize the best way to accomplish the tasks.
