renovating the main upstairs bathroom, and adding a guest suite. The kitchen featured a mix of white oak and lacquered custom cabinetry, two-inch-thick mitered quartz on the large island, a large arched range surround with full height quartz backsplash, quartz returning into the window sill, and many unique features such as a hidden toe kick step, custom pull-out systems, a panelled dishwasher, and a microwave drawer. Another stand out feature of the project is the finish on the cabinetry, which was custom made for the clients. That finish turned out so well, and was so unique, that the manufacturer has actually since decided to offer it as a standard finish. As Jarred says, “we enjoy the challenge.” “Everyone here is quite capable and confident in their abilities,” Dan elaborates. “We have a lot of experience. Earlier, when we had 14 people, we tallied it up and we discovered we had 220 years of experience in this industry. Since then we’ve grown and added even more experience. Everyone here is willing and eager to leverage that experience in order to solve a challenge.” “We’re all very creative people,” Becky adds. “We’re all passionate about what we do. We don’t want things to be too easy. We don’t want to do the same thing over and over. We want to use our creativity and problem-solve and do something APRIL 2024
