When it comes to employees, D&L also strives to build long-lasting relationships, just like they do with clients. They achieve that by offering perks such as bonuses, fully paid half-days the last Friday of every month, and a variety of team activities designed to “show the team appreciation for their hard work,” David says. In addition D&L treats every employee the same, and David and Alex are accessible to employees the same way they are to clients. “It doesn’t matter what someone’s job is, they can come talk to us,” Alex says. “Any problems they have, whether they are work-related or homerelated, we’ll do our best to provide whatever help we can. I think that’s really important.” As a result of that approach, D&L has historically been very successful at retaining their people. Of their current team, Alex says most people have been with the company for at least two or three years, and some senior team members have been there as long as 15 years. Again, he says, that longevity is reflected in the quality of work they do. APRIL 2024
