Issues in 2014 and 2021, and this year they were nominated for Ontario’s David C. Onley Award for Leadership in Accessibility. John credits that history of recognition not just to the quality of the company’s workmanship, but also the way they communicate with their clients. John’s personally been working in sales since 1987, and he says “the best salesman listens to their customers, figures out their needs, and then comes up with the solution” – and he says that’s what they do at McLellan Contracting. He believes their clients have responded to that approach. Of course, John believes that quality workmanship is also vitally important. In McLellan Contracting’s case, he largely credits that quality to the relationships they have forged with quality manufacturers and suppliers – particularly GAF, a company that John says is unique for the amount and quality of training they offer their customers. “Every spring, they bring a trainer up from the United States who trains our staff on how to properly install a lifetime roofing system. We train with them every year. They teach us how to get the job done right. They have a seven part process and all their products are designed to work together, and they show us how it all works. ” As much as possible, McLellan Contracting strives to form similar relationships with their other manufacturers, and earn certifications similar to GAF Master Elite®.
