Moving forward, MLK Properties’ goal is to continue delivering projects of the same calibre and quality of those examples, and continue building repeat relationships, like they have with their clients. When it comes to residential work, MLK is happy with the niche they have – which is higher-end custom homes and renovations – while on the commercial side, they are happy to “stay within our lane” – which means full construction management on jobs valued up to $5 million, and support work on larger projects for contractors like PCL. “We don’t want to compete with the big guys on the commercial side,” Lloyd says. “If anything, we’re happy to support them and partner with them.” “And within the custom home realm, we don’t want to sacrifice quality by lowering our budgets and build for everyone.
