that set them apart in the eyes of commercial clients. For example, Lloyd and a few of his senior team members personally have management consultancy experience. They have developed some of their own properties from scratch, which means they understand the challenges their clients face, and the requirements they have to contend with. According to Lloyd, that understanding is very valuable to clients, because it enables them to work quickly and solve the problems without the need for a lot of handholding. That adaptability is valuable whether they manage the whole project; or whether they provide supplementary labour for larger contractors who need additional manpower to meet a deadline. “We have the ability to just dive in without a major learning curve,” Lloyd says. “We can handle basically anything that’s thrown at us. I think that flexibility really sets us apart.” In both the residential and commercial sectors, that flexibility has consistently resulted in repeat business and referrals – which Lloyd says has actually accounted for virtually all of the company’s business over the years: “Our growth has always come from word-of-mouth and repeat customers,” he says. “It’s all been based off our reputation.
