Ready for growth In recent years, Verhoef Electric has been involved with some pretty significant projects. For example, they have done a lot of cannabis growing facilities, including one facility with almost 9,000 grow lights. Moving forward, Kevin’s goal is to do more projects of similar size and scale – though he also wants to keep doing smaller projects at the same time, as he believes the company’s ability to do service work when clients request it is part of what sets them apart. In the future, Kevin also wants to keep growing the company. He says that growth has been a frequent topic of discussion of the leadership team, and the opportunity is definitely there – “it seems like there are requests for quotes coming in all the time” – but that it all depends on the enthusiasm and readiness of their team. “There’s room to grow but only if our guys are excited about it,” he says. “We need the whole team; it has to be a team effort. I don’t want to push for growth if I’m the only one excited about it. People have to want to take on more responsibility. If it turns out they are, I’m very open to growing and taking on new challenges.” NOVEMBER 2023
