He grew up working alongside his father during summers and weekends, and after graduating college he officially started his career as an apprentice at Verhoef Electric. He eventually took over the business in 2013. In the decade since, the company has evolved considerably in terms of both their size and their service offering – sizewise, they have grown from a team of 12 to a team of more than 40, while servicewise they have expanded into greenhouse automation and home automation.
