the available space. Those are all key things for us.” Daventry’s rental properties are not just designed well, however. Like all Daventry projects, they are also delivered to a very high standard of workmanship and finished by the company’s own in-house construction team. Cheryl credits that quality of construction to the experience and expertise of Aaron and Nathan and their senior team members. She says they do as much of their labour as they can in-house, so they have a lot of control. She also says their policy is that quality assurance “happens throughout the entire process, not just at the end.” “Our team is constantly checking the project as they go,” she says. “They understand that mistakes happen, but they want to make sure they catch those mistakes when they happen and then correct them before they become bigger issues down the road. That goes a long way to assuring quality.” Cheryl also credits the relationships Aaron and Nathan have built with some of the region’s leading subcontractors and tradespeople: “Aaron has been building in this area since 2006, so he has long-term relationships with trades here,” she says. “He’s built a lot of mutually beneficial relationships and partnerships. A lot of those go back to the very beginning of the company. And we really believe in giving back to the community by using as many local trades as possible.” NOVEMBER 2023
