“Sheldon and I are involved in every single project we do, and we treat every projects as if it was our own,” Kendall explains. “We recognize that renovations are a big commitment, and they can be emotional at times. We’re working in people’s homes. That’s very personal. We take that very seriously.” In order to make the process as seamless and stress-free as possible for clients, Diamond Contracting emphasizes communication and transparency. “We’re always communicating with clients,” Kendall says. “We let them know the schedule, we let them know what we’re doing and when. If they’re living in the home and they might not have water for four or five hours, we give them advance warning. We keep them involved right from start to finish. I think that communication sets us apart.” Over the years, that communication and transparency has consistently translated into strong relationships with clients. The strength of those relationships is reflected in the company’s high rate of repeat work and referrals. “Usually when we work with a client, they become our client forever,” Kendall says. “Sheldon and I have both been in this industry for over 20 years, and we’re now doing a lot of ‘renovation rewinds’ with a lot of the same clients we worked with at the beginning of our careers. We renovated their bathroom or kitchen 20 years ago, and now we’re back to redo them – not because there was a problem or the quality hasn’t stood the test of time, just solely based on trends changing. That shows the kind of relationships that we build with customers.” NOVEMBER 2023
