As previously mentioned, they also have a Design Centre, located two doors over from their showroom in Hamilton. Over the past five years, Decorrestore has also expanded their cabinetmaking capabilities. When the company started, they mainly focused on respraying and refacing cabinetry to smooth ‘manufacturer-quality’ finishes, but now they also have a cabinetmaking shop in-house, which has been very beneficial: “That allows us a lot of flexibility on projects,” Ally explains. “We can create a lot of customized pieces at very quick turnarounds. We’re not ordering cabinet boxes and then waiting for them to get here, which can take weeks. We can make a piece and then deliver it to site same day.” Equipped with that cabinetmaking capability, Decorrestore now offers clients three service lines, which they call: respray, reface, and replace. Respraying is when they take existing cabinetry, sand it down, and professionally respray it – that’s their most affordable service line, and also their most sustainable from an environmental perspective as it involves reusing existing materials. Refacing is when they keep existing cabinet boxes and supply brand new doors. And replacing is exactly what it sounds like – they do fully custom renovations with full tear-outs and redesigns.
