is ideally situated close to the city’s waterfront, local shopping centers, restaurants, services and recreation, and within only two kilometres of the titular Peace Bridge to the United States. Peace Bridge Village is a four phase project consisting of about 240 units, with a mix of single-detached and townhomes. Phase 1 was 74 units, all single-detached. Phase 2 was another 74 units. Phase 3, which is under construction now, will be all townhouses. Phase 4 is coming soon, and is expected to include over 60 units, with a mix of singles and towns. When conceiving and designing any development, Ashton Homes’ goal is to add value to the surrounding community. In the case of the Peace Bridge Village, they placed an emphasis on increasing the walkability of the general neighborhood. For example, they added a path that connects the existing neighborhood to one of the main commercial corridors in the area. Before, there was no such route – “so we thought that might be a nice value add for the people who already live there,” Jay says. As part of the project, Ashton Homes also installed a fairly large pond with surrounding food paths. That feature is now available for the general public to visit and enjoy. Furthermore, the company designed the homes and townhomes to complement the existing community.
