a project called ‘Peachy Towns,’ located in the city’s Winona area. That project consisted of 61 units with costs between $520,000 and $540,000, with 14 of those units being Trilliumsupported homes. “The Trillium mortgages there were bigger, so we ended up helping families save about $700 per month,” Joe explains. “I have to give a shout-out to the Hamilton Community Foundation – they were our impact investor on that project, and we’re so happy to have worked with them.” Trillium followed up Peachy Towns with a project called ‘Peachy on the Mountain,’ also in Hamilton. That project includes 73 street townhouse units, with as many as 40 being Trillium properties. Just like Peachy Towns, it is being developed by New Horizon Development with the support of the Hamilton Community Foundation. Construction is winding down now and occupancy will begin later this summer. Most recently, Trillium once again teamed up with VanMar Developments, this time to build a project dubbed ‘Maxx Urban Towns’ in Pickering. That development that will consist of 216 stacked townhouses, of which 40-to-50 will be Trilliumsupported. The townhouses will be delivered in phases, with the first phases already completed and occupancy already having started. “I expect we’ll be saving families close to what we saved them in Winona, so about $700 a month,” Joe says. “So we’re making a big impact. You can imagine what $700 a month means to someone’s budget. It’s a lot.” THE CONSTRUCTION SOURCE CANADA
