“When I’m gone, that building is probably still going to be there. It’s nice to have that little bit of a legacy. We want to keep contributing to that legacy.” In the near future, Sunny says that will mean growing the company in order to take on larger-scale projects – but never too many projects at one time, as their highest priority will always be their quality. “We never want to take on more than we can handle,” he explains. “Considering the labor constraints that are afflicting the construction industry, we recognize that we have to find a balance. We’ll only take on work if we have the labour force that we need to get it done on schedule and get it done to our standard of quality.” “We want to continue to grow, but it has to be controlled growth,” he concludes. “We have a reputation for quality and we have a reputation for satisfying our clients, and that reputation is too important to us to risk by growing too quickly.” DECEMBER 2023
