Phoenix maintains an extremely low employee turnover rate, with some team members having been with the company for decades.) Today, Phoenix Glass operates out of a new purposebuilt 42,000-square-foot manufacturing plant in Delta, B.C. – where, as Sunny previously mentioned, they employ over 130 full time staff. The projects they take on tend to be varied in terms of typology and the products they use, but what they all have in common is they tend to be large and technically challenging. In general, Sunny says, Phoenix Glass has a reputation for doing “projects that others say can’t be done.” “The complex projects that maybe others don’t want to get involved in – that’s our bread and butter, that’s what we like to do,” he says. “We don’t want to go out there and grab every job available and risk stretching ourselves too thin. We want to focus on challenging jobs, we want to make sure we perform very well, and we want to keep customers coming back.” According to Sunny, Phoenix Glass’ ability to tackle those challenging projects – and to find solutions where other glazing providers either can’t or don’t want to – is a credit to their team: “I would put that on our team,” he says. “We have a fantastic team over here. Our team is able to solve the kind of problems that maybe some others would shy away from. One of the things we like to say is that ‘nothing’s impossible; it’s just a matter of figuring out how to get it done.’ That’s what we like to do – we like to figure things out. We like to solve complex issues.” DECEMBER 2023
